Almiral Gel is an effective topical product designed to relieve pain, inflammation and stiffness in muscles and joints. The main active component of the gel is diclofenac diethylamine 1.16% - a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that reduces the production of substances that cause inflammation and pain. Due to its light texture, the gel is quickly absorbed, providing a cooling effect and targeted action on the affected areas.

The drug is recommended for sprains, bruises, joint pain, as well as local manifestations of soft tissue rheumatism and osteoarthritis of the peripheral joints. Almiral Gel is easy to use: a small amount (2-4 g) is applied to the affected area 3-4 times a day. It is not recommended to use the product on damaged skin, as well as to use bandages over the treated area. If symptoms persist for more than 14 days, you should consult a doctor.

Indications for use

For local symptomatic treatment of pain and inflammation in:

• traumatic (including sports) injuries to tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints without breaking the skin (bruises, sprains, dislocations), back pain
• localized forms of rheumatism: tendinitis (the so-called "tennis elbow"), algodystrophic syndrome of the upper limb ("shoulder-arm" syndrome), bursitis, periarthritis
• osteoarthritis of peripheral joints (eg, knees or fingers).

Recommendations for use

Dosage regimen

Adults, adolescents and children over 12 years old 3-4 times a day, lightly rubbing into the skin on the affected areas of the body.

Method and route of administration: Externally.

• Depending on the size of the area being treated, 2-4 grams of the preparation should be applied (an amount of gel the size of a cherry or walnut is sufficient for application to a skin area of ​​400-800 cm2).
• After applying the product, it is recommended to wash your hands (except for treating fingers).

Duration of treatment

The duration of treatment depends on the indications and effectiveness of the therapy. The drug should not be used for more than 12 days.

You should consult a doctor if there is no improvement in your condition within 7 days of starting to use the drug or if your condition worsens.

Side effects

Almiral Gel may cause the following side effects:

• Thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, anemia, agranulocytosis.
• Hypersensitivity, anaphylactic and anaphylactoid reactions, angioedema.
• Disorientation, depression, insomnia, nightmares, irritability and other mental disorders.
• Headache, dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, paresthesia, memory impairment, seizures, anxiety, tremor, aseptic meningitis, taste disturbance, stroke, confusion, hallucinations, sensory disturbances, general malaise.

Contraindications

The drug Almiral is contraindicated in the following cases:

• Known hypersensitivity to the active substance, sodium metabisulfite or to any other components of the drug;
• History of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation associated with prior treatment with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs;
• Active peptic ulcer/bleeding or history of recurrent peptic ulcer/bleeding;
• Cerebrovascular diseases in patients with a history of stroke or transient ischemic attacks.
• Peripheral arterial disease.
